MGS SYSTEM
In this case, for the drill head location, it is necessary the laying of an external ring. This laying has a rectangular shape, and it marks a rectangle on the ground plan, where one wishes to steer.
This cable is fed by electrical current (AC) to generate a magnetic field.
The drill head, just like the cable system, is also fed by a wire in the rod, and it also generates a second magnetic field. To avoid this field induction to the drill rig, there must be installed non-magnetic metallic elements to interrupt this induction.
From the interferences of both magnetic fields, it is possible to determine the drill head position, not being necessary that the navigator is situated in the vertical of this head.
