DUAL DRIVE SYSTEM
The dual drive system is characterized by the drilling and simultaneous overburden in unconsolidated and highly complicated ground. The drill rig has two independent rotary top heads, one of them which drive the drillstring and drill tool, and the other one that drives the pipe. In case of drilling in unconsolidated overburden (such as sand and gravel), the casing is advanced ahead of the drill bit, which guarantees a better wall stability and a minimum ground affectation. In case of encountering boulders and/ or rock, the casing rotation can be stopped, and continue through the boulder with the drill bit, up to the proper depth.
