Present, once again, at the Annual DCA Congress in Bamberg, Germany

Catalana de Perforacions participated once again in the DCA Annual Conference under the slogan ‘Even drillers need rules’, held from 8 to 10 October in Bamberg, Germany.

Catalana de Perforacions participated once again in the Annual DCA Conference under the slogan ‘Even drillers need rules’, held from 8 to 10 October in Bamberg, Germany.

This event brings together the leading European companies in the drilling sector, particularly those specialising in the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) method, and is a meeting point for sharing knowledge, innovation and experiences in international projects.

The purpose of the congress

The Annual DCA Conference is the leading event in the HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) sector in Europe. Its main objective is to promote technical and professional exchange between companies, engineering firms and operators, as well as to promote the quality, safety and sustainability of drilling techniques.

Through technical presentations, project presentations, round tables, workshops on best practices and networking sessions, the conference has established itself as a key platform for showcasing new technologies, sharing experiences and highlighting initiatives that drive an increasingly efficient, safe and sustainable sector.

The Celtic Interconnector project takes centre stage

During this edition, the companies Optimum and RTE (Réseau de Transport d’Électricité) presented the project Celtic Interconnector, a strategic infrastructure that will connect Ireland and France via a 575 km high-voltage direct current (HVDC) submarine cable.

In their presentation, Optimum and RTE wished to publicly thank Catalana de Perforacions for its collaboration and the excellent execution of the work carried out within the project, highlighting the technical precision and quality of the drilling.

For Catalana de Perforacions, this recognition represents a sign of confidence and an endorsement of our commitment to quality, safety and technical innovation in projects of high strategic value for the European energy sector.

Women and Innovation in the HDD sector: Womens Empowering HDD

In a traditionally male-dominated sector, women are taking centre stage. The Women Empowering HDD (We-HDD) initiative promotes diversity and female talent in the field of drilling and underground construction.

Its aim is to encourage women’s participation and leadership in the industry, providing them with visibility, opportunities for growth and professional networking opportunities. Its activities include organising in-person events with presentations, success stories and debates, with the aim of creating a support network and inspiring new generations of professionals.

At Catalana de Perforacions, we would like to thank Anna Serarols, Head of Sales, for playing an active role in this initiative and helping to promote the role of women in the HDD sector.

With our participation, once again, in the DCA Annual Conference, we reaffirm our commitment to HDD technology, international collaboration, sustainability and the promotion of equal opportunities in the sector.

See you in Rome for the next edition of the DCA Annual Conference! It will be a very special event, as we will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of this event, which brings together the leading professionals in the HDD sector year after year.
