Developed by Herrenknecht AG, the Direct Pipe® technique is an advanced methodology that combines the benefits of Horizontal Directional Drilling and microtunnelling to provide a method of subsea installation and marine pipelines.

The machine pushes the tube through the subsurface while creating the tunnel required for it to pass through. Installation of pipes with diameters of 30″ to 60″ (Ø800-Ø1500) and lengths of over 1500 metres.

This technique helps to preserve the environment by minimising the impact on flora and fauna, both at sea and where the machinery is located.
